About this tool
This extractor takes the audio track out of a video file and saves it as a standalone audio file. Point it at a screen recording, a lecture capture, a podcast shot on camera, or an interview filmed on a phone, and it returns just the sound as an MP3, M4A, or WAV. The picture is discarded, so the result is a small, easy-to-share file that plays anywhere.
Unlike most online extractors, nothing is uploaded. The tool loads a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg into your browser and does the entire extraction on your own machine. That matters when the recording is a private meeting, a confidential briefing, or client material you would rather not hand to a third-party server. Because the video and the audio it contains stay on your device, there is no queue, no account, and no copy sitting on someone else's disk.
How to use it

Common questions
Does my video get uploaded to a server?
No. The extraction runs entirely in your browser using a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg. Your video is read locally and never leaves your device, which is why the first run downloads the engine but later runs are quick.
Which audio format should I pick?
Choose MP3 for the smallest, most universally playable file, or M4A/AAC when you want good quality at a small size on Apple devices. Choose WAV when you need an uncompressed, lossless track for editing or archiving.
Will extracting the audio re-encode the video?
No. The tool copies only the audio track out of the video and discards the picture, so the original video file is never modified. The output is a new audio-only file in the format you selected.
