About this tool

This is an external HTTP availability check. You give us a URL and an email address, we request that URL every five minutes from outside your network, and we email you when it stops responding and again when it comes back. Unlike the calculators elsewhere in this section it does not run in your browser: the URL and email are sent to a SecureVault API and stored so the checks can keep running. Consent is required before submitting, and you can unsubscribe from any alert email.

The problem it solves is the blind spot in internal monitoring. Agents inside your own environment cannot tell you the site is unreachable from the public internet — an expired certificate, a DNS change or a CDN misconfiguration often looks healthy from the inside while customers see nothing. For a small team an independent external check is usually the difference between hearing about an outage from your monitoring and hearing about it from a customer. How to use it

Setup takes about a minute:

• Enter the full URL including the scheme, for example https://yoursite.com.
• Enter the alert address, ideally a shared or on-call inbox rather than one person's.
• Tick the consent box and click Start monitoring.
• Open the confirmation email and click the link. Monitoring only begins after this step.
• Allow-list the alert sender so notifications are not filtered into junk.

Common questions

What happens after I submit the form?

The URL and email address are posted to SecureVault's monitoring service and a confirmation email is sent to that address. Monitoring does not start until you click the confirmation link, which stops anyone signing up an address they do not control. Every alert email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the checks for that monitor.

How often is my site checked, and when do I get an email?

The URL is requested every five minutes. You get one email when the check starts failing and another when it recovers, rather than a message on every failed check. Because checks run on a five-minute cycle, a very short outage can finish between two checks and go unreported.

Do I need an account, and can I monitor more than one site?

No account is required. Submit the form once for each URL you want watched, using the same email address if you want all alerts in one inbox. This is a free external availability check, not a managed monitoring platform — there is no dashboard, history or on-call escalation.
